Since the summer began, Compassionate Community Care has been actively working to promote our resources, training programs, and life-saving helpline: 1-855-675-8749. It is confidential and free; available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We’ve been able to accomplish this by hosting many in-person and online events, training presentations and special private introductions to provide information and awareness about our organization, work, and ongoing progress. From offering regular training events for our Being With My Story Visiting Program to our Patient Advocacy Training, we continue to train individuals in communities across Canada on how to be dedicated volunteers actively visiting those most vulnerable and in greatest need in their communities, and helping be effective advocates for them. To register for the next upcoming session please visit us here.
In addition to our many talks offered in various locations across Ontario, including places of faith, CCC was recently welcomed by the community St Mary of Egypt Refuge in offering a two-day (overnight) training session for volunteers to support seniors and vulnerable people and provide patient advocacy and visitors' training. Held on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023 and Thursday, July 6th, 2023, from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on both days, lunch was provided for these sessions in addition to certificates of completion. Overnight accommodation was available on site and these sessions provided a great opportunity for students who need high school volunteer hours as well as those who are going into a helping profession or the charity sector.
Many people, especially vulnerable seniors in our community, are isolated, lonely, and without help. This training offered an opportunity to support neighbours and remind them they are valued whether they live at home or in an institutional setting.
Participants learned how to support seniors in their community in effective and practical ways, recognize possible issues vulnerable people may have and support them in getting the help they may need to live fuller lives. Sessions also covered how to be an effective advocate for vulnerable seniors, as well as people with illness or disabilities.
For the opportunity to provide this training and certificate completion in your community, group, faith centre, or ministry, please contact CCC at 519-439-6445; we would be happy to assist you with facilitating this and providing a training for your organization.
“We have a good organization here and we’d like to share more about the important work CCC does.”
- Dan McCash
In late July, CCC hosted its first Meet and Greet event at the private residence of Muriel and Dan McCash. Thank you for hosting this fabulous event and for being open to learning more about the important work CCC does.
We sincerely thank every guest and participant who enabled this special afternoon to happen. This wonderful afternoon was spent with friends, contacts, and leaders across the GTA and Ontario who gathered to meet new friends, dialogue with one another about issues that matter, learn more about CCC, our mission and important work, and ongoing progress and plans.
A very well-attended event, CCC provided the food and some wonderful entertainment throughout which helped promote insightful discussions and meaningful conversations about CCC, our valuable helpline, resources, and services.
To our esteemed guests-thank you for joining us, inviting others, and for your support of Compassionate Community Care (CCC). We strive to share our valuable services and resources with others so more lives will be positively impacted; that's why these events are so important.
We hope to host more of these events in the future. We simply ask if you would like to support us and introduce us to your friends, community, and sympathetic contacts, please contact us and we will plan together. This particular meeting happened at a private home, however, we can facilitate these great networking connections in places of faith, community centres, and other locations. Thank you in advance for your openness, time, and support!
There are many more events planned for September including a special fundraiser and run for CCC, to learn more please visit us online here.
